SONY'S NEW SECURITY CAMERAS OFFER VERSATILITY AND HIGH PICTURE QUALITY

LAS VEGAS (ISC Expo/West Booth # 4102), March 5 - Sony
Electronics today unveiled four new compact video cameras for the surveillance industry. The SSC-M183 and SSC-M383 monochrome video cameras and the SSC-DC193 and SSC-DC393 color video cameras have been designed to blend in with their environments, and can be used in a wide variety of general applications, including corporate and government buildings, retail and convenience stores, airports, parking lots and banks.

The SSC-M183 and SSC-DC193 video cameras incorporate Sony's Super
HAD(TM) CCD technology, providing a clear image even in low light
conditions. The cameras feature a 1/3 Super HAD IT CCD. The SSC-M383 and SSC-DC393 video cameras utilize a 1/3 IT CCD with EXwave HADO technology, offering high picture quality and remarkable sensitivity.

"Featuring the latest technology and a new sleek design, our
customers get more versatile surveillance cameras that can perform multiple tasks," said Jim Sandy, vice president of security and visual imaging products at Sony Electronics' Broadcast and Professional Company. "These cameras are ideal for use in low light conditions, including both indoor and outdoor surveillance environments."

All of these video cameras utilize Turbo AGC (up to 24dB),
allowing them to clearly distinguish subjects in low light areas. These cameras feature a CS Mount and can connect easily with either DC Servo or Video Servo lenses. Additional technical features that provide top-quality results in various surveillance applications include:

- Dual Power Capability (24VAC or 12VDC), which provides against
power supply compatibility; and
- Backlight Compensation (BLC), which automatically compensates for backlighting that can cast shadow on surveillance subjects.

Sony's new SSC-M183, SSC-M383, SSC-DC193 and SSC-DC393 video
cameras will be available in May for suggested list prices of $120, $230, $200 and $265, respectively.
