It's not always convenient to get to an Internet-connected PC to check on your home. So why not install an outdoor color pan/tilt camera that can be viewed and controlled from a standard Web browser, video display, or even a compatible cell phone or PDA? Place an Outdoor Wireless Network Pan/Tilt Camera in your home, office, vacation home or almost anywhere else that you'd like to keep an eye on things, with no PC required on location! This camera is easy to install and operate and requires no additional software for the PC on which you're viewing it. Each camera also comes with a free Web address, which can track the camera automatically. All of the required software, including for controlling and emailing upon events, is already inside the camera.
The Outdoor Wireless Network Pan/Tilt Camera can communicate wirelessly with standard 802.11b/g wireless devices, allowing the flexibility to install and operate the camera anywhere, without running network wires. Its SSID filtering and powerful 64/128/152 bit WEP encryption helps to protect your wireless network from illegal intrusion. IPsec also provides security for the transmission of sensitive information over unprotected networks, including the Internet. Each camera has a built-in web server with IP address. Communication via Ethernet cable is also available.
You're not limited to capturing images from a single angle with the Outdoor Wireless Network Pan/Tilt Camera. Pan left and right or tilt up and down to view a wide area around the camera from any PC. Assign eight positions in advance. The camera pans or tilts quickly, with a maximum speed of 80 degrees per second. You can even control the camera at high speed from your PC or cell phone.
This model was designed for outdoor operation: It functions perfectly in extreme temperatures and is splash resistant for wet-weather operation. It can be mounted on a wall or ceiling or even on a tripod mount. Use of the camera's built-in microphone and an amp-equipped speaker (sold separately) enables two-way voice communication between the network camera and the microphone connected to the PC being used to monitor the camera image.
Accessing the camera's feed is easy from any PC, thanks to the free viewnetcam.com service included with the Outdoor Wireless Network Pan/Tilt Camera. This service allows you to assign an easy-to-remember name to your camera. Special software embedded within your Panasonic Network Camera gives it the ability to locate its unique Internet address, even if your ISP changes the IP address. As the camera administrator, you'll be able to access your camera web page to set the camera name, white balance, pan/tilt range, return to specified position and color night view settings. Up to 50 general users can also be registered to view the feed. Configure up to 12 cameras to be viewed on your camera page.
This camera features a CCD (Charged Couple Device) for sharp, enhanced image expression. The image refreshing speed of 30 images per second provides smooth displays of moving images. The color night view mode even allows you to monitor the camera in low illumination.
Record images captured by the camera onto your PC or directly onto an SD Memory Card (sold separately). If you enable alarm buffer/transfer, you can record the image at the timing of signal detection of a door sensor or light. About 58,000 images can be recorded to a 1GB SD memory card. If you enable one-minute interval timer buffer/transfer, you can record the images for about 41 days.
The camera can be set to record video automatically at certain times and certain speeds. With its built-in heat sensor, the camera can be set to record and/or notify you by email when someone enters the room. It can even automatically move to a preset location when triggered, just in case someone was viewing a different part of the room. In addition, with external sensors attached to the camera, it is possible for the camera to email or record when triggered by motion, sound, light, timer, or even a push button. Sensors are sold separately.
The camera can be set up automatically, obtaining the network settings utilizing a DHCP feature on the router. The camera also automatically searches the unused IP address on your network. You can also search for the camera IP address.
Note: Under certain circumstances, audio/video recording may be prohibited by law. This device should be used only in compliance with all applicable federal, state and local statutes.
