Fairport, New York, December 2004 -- Bosch Security Systems, a leading supplier for the security industry, announces the release of Bosch Voice Evacuation Systems. These systems can facilitate automatic alert/alarm signals, spoken instructions for evacuation or other action, and manual paging.
Requiring audio evacuation systems is a growing trend for many building codes and local jurisdictions ? it provides areas of assembly with a superior life safety solution.
The system is designed for areas of assembly and high-rise structures greater than 75 feet. (?Assembly? is usually defined as 300 or more people -- examples include churches, theaters, auditoriums, restaurants, bars, museums, schools, day care centers, and malls and shopping centers.)
The key benefits of the system are more effective communication and more effective evacuation. In addition to fires, the unit can be used to alert crowds to tornados, floods, Hazmat situations, and even earthquakes. They are affordable, easy to install and operate, and compatible with 12- or 24-volt fire alarm control panels.
Customers can choose from more than 900 combinations of digitally recorded messages, with multi-lingual capability. Messages may be up to four minutes long ? and are overridden by the live microphone, so critical information can be conveyed immediately. (Only the fire department may use the paging system.)
System options range from 25 watts to up to 2,000 watts of audio power. Systems can be expanded and customized with zone splitters, expander panels, and modules. Custom messages are also available as an option.
Customers can set the delay between message repeats for 4-, 8-, 12-, or 16-second delays. They can also set the number of times the message repeats to one, two, or three plays (default) ? or ?continuous? play. All Bosch Voice Evacuation Systems include these essential features:
? Audio amplifier
? Digital message repeater (DMR)
? 120 VAC power transformer and battery charger
? Tone generator and paging microphone
? Surface- or semi-flush-mounting enclosure with a hinged, key-locked door in charcoal-gray (standard) or red (optional)
