Raytheon Commercial Infrared Adds Pro 400 Digital Thermal Imaging Camera to Industrial Family
Addition of Pro 400 Digital Provides Alternative Low Cost Choice for Industrial Users
DALLAS, November 14, 2002- Raytheon Commercial Infrared, a leader in the development and production of uncooled thermal imaging systems, services and solutions, announced today the introduction of the new Pro 400 Digital infrared camera. The handheld camera is perfect for providing real-time, color thermal images for use in non-radiometric (not requiring temperature measurement) industrial or public safety applications. Offered as a complement to its sister product, the Radiometric 500 Digital, the Pro 400 Digital boasts a lower price tag with the same level of quality imaging and overall performance.
For predictive maintenance, quality control and process monitoring, the Pro 400 Digital captures images for analysis and diagnosis of potential problems in equipment. Also used in thermal control and insulation analysis, the camera records heating or cooling losses so that leaks can be traced and corrected within furnaces, ovens, buildings and other structures. Law enforcement and public safety professionals can also use the Pro 400 Digital for investigative operations.
"The Pro 400 Digital fills an important gap in our industrial family of thermography products," said Christopher Bade, president of Raytheon Commercial Infrared. "The Pro 400 Digital provides the same overall features and high resolution imagery as the 500 Digital, but was developed for applications where radiometry is not necessary." With the addition of the Pro 400 Digital, users now have more flexibility in choosing a camera that specifically meets their requirements.
Like the Radiometric 500 Digital, the Pro 400 Digital provides digital data storage combined with the power of a personal digital assistant (PDA), which can store over 150 images. The camera produces detailed 320 x 240 pixel thermal images and offers a user-friendly interface with its on-screen menu and NTSC or Pal video output. In addition, the Pro 400 Digital is capable of using interchangeable lenses to fit a wide variety of applications.
The Radiometric 500 Digital, introduced earlier this year, provides radiometric temperature measurement for quantitative industrial applications in the field or factory.
