Control This Color Pan/Tilt/Zoom Camera Remotely From Web, PDA or Cell

  • Remote pan, tilt and zoom control
  • Control over the Internet, cell phone or PDA
  • Timed or sensor-triggered recording possible

When installing a home security camera, it's important to be able to access its images whenever it's convenient for you. Don't be tied to your home monitor! The Indoor Pan/Tilt 42x Optical Zoom Camera can be accessed from any Internet-connected computer, but it can also be reached and controlled through your cell phone or PDA. You don't even need a PC on the premises, because the web server and all control software are already inside the camera. Each camera also comes with a free Web address, which can track the camera automatically.

The free viewnetcam.com service allows you to create a personal Web address at which your camera's live image can be found on the Internet. Since it connects to the Internet using a standard Ethernet connection, the Indoor Pan/Tilt 42x Optical Zoom Camera does not require a PC on site. Equipped with a 42x zoom function (a 21x optical zoom and a 2x digital zoom), the camera lets you zoom in and out a total of 12 steps (10-step optical zoom and 2-step digital zoom) to view objects that are close or far away.

Using a standard Web browser, video display, or even a compatible cell phone or PDA, you can control the movement of the camera, panning 350 degrees and tilting 120 degrees. You can also assign a "Home Position" that allows you to return the camera to a pre-designated shooting position. Up to eight shooting positions can be registered in advance, so you can aim the camera exactly where you want it. You can also click on the part of the image you want to see and automatically bring that part to the center of the screen.

This camera features a CCD for sharp, enhanced image expression with an image refreshing speed of 30 images per second for smooth, moving image display. Where many color cameras switch automatically to black and white imaging in low light, the Indoor Pan/Tilt 42x Optical Zoom Camera offers color night viewing in light under 0.1 lux.

The Indoor Pan/Tilt 42x Optical Zoom Camera can be set to record video automatically at certain times and certain speeds. In addition, with external sensors attached to the camera, it is possible for the camera to email or record when triggered by motion, sound, light, timer, or even a push button (sensors required and sold separately), eliminating the need to check the image constantly. With the camera's built-in heat sensor, it can be set to record and/or notify you by email when someone enters the room. It can even automatically move to a preset location when triggered.

Connect a microphone to listen in while you're watching the action. By connecting a speaker, you can even talk back. Microphone and speaker are sold separately. You can also connect the camera to a TV or VCR to watch or record camera images.

By simply inserting an SD memory card (sold separately), you can store thousands of images right in the camera. For maximum storage capacity, insert a 1 GB SD memory card and store up to 58,000 images; voices can't be recorded.
