Panasonic Offers Ultra-Small Color CCD Camera Module for Medical & Industrial Vision Applications
Secaucus, NJ (June 22, 2002) - Panasonic Vision Systems has introduced a new color CCD camera module designed for a diverse range of medical and industrial applications. The GP-CX261V Color CCD Camera Module is an ultra small color CCD camera and processing/controller that can be easily incorporated into a number of devices that require high performance imaging in limited space, such as in medical/dental imaging scopes or industrial inspection systems.
"The GP-CX261V offers the high performance imaging qualities necessary for intricate industrial, dental, and medical vision applications in a very small configuration," said Jim Roselius, National Sales & Marketing Manager, Panasonic Vision Systems. "We believe there are a significant number of applications for this camera beyond those already identified by our extensive network of image systems integrators. "
Panasonic's new GP-CX261V Color CCD Camera Module features a ?" FPC type CCD that measures only 5.4 x 6.0mm. The CCD is extended via FPC for approximately 85mm. The camera head is connected to a camera control unit (CCU) board that measures only 50 x 11 mm.
Features include a horizontal resolution of 512 (H) x 494 (V) pixels or 350 lines of resolution (NTSC); VBS and YC video outputs; a S/N ratio of 46dB (AGC off); a minimum illumination of 6.5 lux; AGC; ELC; and ATW. The ultra-small unit requires only 6V for operation. External control of mirror mode, ALC, sharpness, gamma, chroma gain/matrix, manual white balance, R/B gain, contrast and other features is achieved through an I2C interface.
