Description:The powerful PowerShot A400 brings a striking look to digital photography. Yours in a choice of four dashing colors: Silver, Sky Blue, Lime Green or Sunset Gold, this is a camera that will get you noticed. Plus a host of impressive features.Reviewed by: ghuan from OK on Apr 1, 2005

Strengths: Beautiful finish. Light weight. Easy to use. Sharp, colorful picture.
Weaknesses: Limited manual setup.
Summary: I have a 5.1MP Sony already. Still got this Camera and Printer bundle deal.
Not to my surprise, this Canon outperforms SONY in several ways.
Canon is faster. Sony always feels slow when taking pictures.
Canon takes better pictures. The pictures from Canon are fresher, and slightly better than those from Sony.
Besides, the Canon IP3000 printer is a solid photo printer, especially on high quality photo paper. Just be aware that inks run fast if you print large size photos.

Weaknesses: - A little bit bigger than I expected but acceptable
Summary: Recommended for anyone who has limited budget to spend. Well, mostly people said "You get what you paid for" but for me it's just more than my expectation. Happy with products from CANON....

Strengths: Small size of the camera
Weaknesses: Poor quality night shots
Summary: I never intended to buy this combo. But when I was in OfficeMax, I saw it for an incredible price of $120. With the $70 rebate, I got the camera and the printer for $50. For this price, you can't go wrong.
The camera is very small (however note that it is not as small as the Powershot Elphs from Canon). But it is still small enough that I can carry it around with me wherever I go. And since it is very cheap, I do not mind leaving it in the glove box of my car.
The camera has LOTs of features - it has almost all the features that the top of the line Canon cameras like S400, S410 etc have. I have heard some people complain about its battery consumption. I dont have any such complains. I have 2 2300MaH engergizer NiMH cells in it. I have taken more than 250 photos - all with flash. And I havent had to replace the battery so far. And for a low end camera, it comes with 2.2 optical zoom - which is like a bonus.
Some of the problems with the camera are: Because of its small size, it has a tendency to shake when taking photos. The photos taken in dark, even with the flash do not always come out great. The flash works only if the object is within 6 ft of the camera. Beyond that the photos come out blurred or grainy. The lag between the press of the button and the click of the shutter is too much.
I havent had a chance to test out the printer so far. But I will update this review as soon as I do so.

Strengths: small, high qulity picture, easy to operate
Weaknesses: small zoom.
Summary: I purchased it because it is cheap. It didnot make me disappionted. But If I have more money, I would like to choose a 4Xdigital zoom, and 4xoptical zoom. I like sony's battery, it is light and samll. easy to charge without buying the recharger and batteries. This camera would be very light if it doesnot use 2 aa batteries.

Strengths: Price, Features, Quality
Weaknesses: Low optical zoom on camera, printer is somewhat slow
Summary: This is a great combo. The camera is perfect for any novice wanting to take great pictures. I found the camera very easy to use. I was also very impressed with the build quality of the camera, it is very sturdy. The only drawback is the 2X optical zoom, but for the price you have to give a little somewhere. The printer is also excellent, it prints perfect photos. It did seem a little slower than other photo printers but another 30 seconds isn't going to kill me. Overall I am very pleased with my purchase.

Strengths: The pictures this camera takes are nice and clear. It seems to have a great battery life compared to my last digital.
Weaknesses: I thought the software was a little clunky. Seemed slow and jerky.
Summary: Great beginner camera/printer bundle for a great price. I am very new to digital cameras but was able to easily take some nice pistures with this. I would highly recommend this to people looking for their 1st digital. Having the pinter along with it allows for a quick print out of your favorite pics.

Weaknesses: the printer makes loud noise. the camera is a little bigger than i expected.
Summary: Canon is a brand name you can trust and depend on. The price is good (forgot to mention it has $70 boudle rebate). The camera itself is entry level. However, the photo printer is a good one, compared to my one-year-old lexmark P710.

Strengths: Printer is Very Quiet - almost silent. Also very fast. Prints a page of text in about 4 to 5 seconds. Ink is also cheap. Digital Cameral is for entry level digital photo folks but takes quality pics.
Weaknesses: None that I can find yet.
Summary: Very very satisfied with this bundle so far. Printer is outstanding. The camera itself is entry level so if you are a novice and don't really know what options you are missing (like me) you won't be dissappointed. It is not even Canon's bottom line camera anyway. It takes great photos and is really pretty slick. And the price can't be beat when you can pick this up for $ 100 to $ 150 after rebate and can jump into the world of digital photography

Weaknesses: A400: Buttons are small for this guys big fingers, but I am adapting. IP3000: Almost too many options to choose from when you print.
I happen to like the overall feel of this small camera. Though some of the buttons are small for my hand, I like its light weight and size. The camera does not come with a case. I'll have to look into getting something to help protect it a bit.
I rated this camera as excellent. I'm sure there are better digital cameras out there that can get more detailed pictures but that's not what I am looking for. I stayed away from digital because of being complacent with what I had and my fear of learning something new.
This Canon A400 changed things for me. I was comfortable with it immediately because I had easy to follow directions and illustrations.
