Accu-Sort? Launches Advanced Long-Range Camera, the AV4000 v2.0

PHILADELPHIA, (April 15, 2005) -- Accu--Sort Systems has launched its most advanced camera ever, the AccuVision(R) AV4000 v2.0. The system, previewed at ProMat 2005, combines the company's newest long--range camera, illumination and decoder into a single package.

"By combining the AccuVision decoder and camera, the system provides superior read rates in a turnkey package that is more convenient to install," said Andrew Ross, product marketing manager for Accu-Sort.

"AccuVision decoders include a full complement of bar code decode capabilities," Ross said. "It's easy to select the type and quantity of codes for an application or to add or remove code types at any time. The new decoders can simultaneously decode any combination of linear, two-dimensional, domestic and international postal codes. Efficient processing enables AccuVision decoders to process multiple codes in a matrix (like those seen in a case of items) in any direction, and at high speeds."

Installation is simple and quick because the camera and illumination are firmly and permanently aligned, and packaged in industrial housings. To reduce installation costs, Accu-Sort has placed the digital zoom in the camera, not the decoder. To trim maintenance costs, the company created a filterless design, mirror blower option, enhanced statistics for faster problem diagnosis and the ability to save parameters.

Advanced software features include side-to-side (omniplanar) detection, dimensioning to 0.5" and quadrant scanning. Network connectivity has also been augmented with built-in Ethernet, serial and modem connections to help integrate the equipment seamlessly into any facility.
