Average user reviews: Description:Dedicated vertical grip for EOS D60 and D30. Accepts up to two BP-511 battery packs, or DC Coupler DR-400. .Reviewed by: Bay Area Deals from CA on Aug 6, 2003 Rating: Experience: 30 Days Strengths: Improves handling in portrait mode, additional battery life Weaknesses: None Summary: This is a very simple accessory. It does both jobs well: improvement of battery life through the use of two batteries (separate) and improvement of handling when shooting in vertical position. It does add weight to the camera, but nothing's for free. Reviewed by:Reviewed by: camera225 from MD on Aug 19, 2004 Rating: Experience: 1 Days Strengths: Added comfort and stability, especially in larger hands. Additional set of controls, very useful. Twice the battery capacity. Gives camera a wider base. Handy battery compartment door storage. Weaknesses: Adds some weight to the camera. User must not forget to remove batteries before removing the grip. Summary: I am use to shooting with a Canon film camera with a vertical grip, so my new 10D seemed incomplete without it. The BG-ED3 is ergonomically well designed, and makes the camera feel more like an extension of your hand. The added stability equates to sharper hand-held images, and the added battery capacity makes it a "must have" for event shooting. Reviewed by:Reviewed by: buddhawarrior from CA on Jul 31, 2004 Rating: Experience: 30 Days Strengths: extra battery holder. extra trigger, extra bulk (impresses the clients). Weaknesses: none Summary: Great addition to an already great camera. extends battery life and adds additional grip for steady portrait shooting. I shoot weddings. and for fast steady portraits in low light situations, you have to have the second grip. Also, it impresses the clients and puts them at ease when they see you come in with big equipment. Reviewed by:Reviewed by: rdalporto from CA on Jul 7, 2004 Rating: Experience: 3 Days Strengths: Shutter release on the vertical plane. Battery capacity. Additional camera controls while on the vertical plane. Weaknesses: weight (heavy). Summary: I am glad I decided to go with the BG-ED3 for my Canon 10D. It has made my life so easy when taking photographs on the vertical plane. The added battery life is a wonderful security "blanket" when I'm not close to a AC outlet to recharge the batteries. I would highly recommend this to any Canon 10D owner. Reviewed by:Reviewed by: doronh from WA on Apr 9, 2004 Rating: Experience: 10 Days Strengths: A must have for anyone wanting to take any pictures that aren't horizontal. Extra batteries space is great too. Weaknesses: NA Summary: I had a vertial grip for my A2 and could not survive without one for my 10D. The grip doesn't disappoint. A must have if you are taking any vertical shots and want control of the camera and shake. |
