Strengths: nice price.

Weaknesses: none

Summary: Compare to the original sony 512mb memory stick duo, this Sandisk one definitely has a better price. I mean..... a much better price. Not $160, but $80. The SanDisk 512mb memory stick pro duo comes with the adaptor which is compatible with all memory stick pro devices. I think the quality of this one is as good as sony. Can't find any diference between the sony one and the sandisk one, except the "brand"

Strengths: Price as compared to Lexar or Sony Brand. Size as compared to other media

Weaknesses: Cost as compared to other media formats, Limited acceptance as with any Sony format. Good luck finding large size media at any stores, both retail or internet

Summary: This SanDisk 512 MEG media is a great buy compared to other brands such as Sony or Lexar pro duo formats, which retails for about double the price for this size memory. 512 mb memory is still all but impossible to get at most retail or internet stores, although I have had some luck at both J and R and BH Photo if you buy quickly before they run out of stock again. The format is very new and it has limited uses right now except for Sony cameras and maybe some cellular phones. Compared to Compact Flash or SD memory or even memory stick, this competing new media format is about twice the price and not widley available in stores, way to go Sony! As it is the media of choice for my DSC-T1, i have no choice but to pay the high prices. Save some money and buy the Sandisk brand, if you can find it around anywhere. Sandisk co-created the format with Sony so there are no compatiblity worries at all only availability worries.

Strengths: Size(obviously),Rapid saving speed, Included adapter,Ability to use higher quality video with the Pro Stick, High amount of memory so you don't need lots of memory sticks

Weaknesses: Price per square inch...Ugh. But really worth it if you're looking for lots of memory in a "small package." Difficult to purchase in any retail stores.

Summary: (Edited August 31st by dsingforgod_1092165272) This is, of course, a pricy little item, but after searching and doing some homework I found one for a great price on Pricegrabber.com. I have only used my new duo 512MB stick a couple days, but it's amazing how many pictures I can get on it at 5MP. (Sony Cybershot DSC-T1) And I can record over 20 minutes of "video" on my Cybershot with this memory stick.

With the inclusion of the adapter, it isn't that big of a deal to transfer memory onto a computer or print out photos at a station at a retail store. You do have to carry the adapter (and not lose it...) but I was able to purchase a memory stick reader at a very modest price (making sure it recognizes the PRO features) and it's now a snap to transfer memory.

It's hard to find this in a retail store, but if you can wait a couple days to a week, it's a better price to buy online anyway. And overall, a MUCH better deal to 'bite the bullet' and drop the money for the 512MB Pro than whittle away with multiple memory sticks that are 32MB, 62MB, etc. (plus that's less little duos to misplace...)

Overall, a great amount of memory and speed in a tiny package. From my experience it is just the same as using my Compact Flash, only a little faster transfer rate (which is REALLY fast if you have a card reader) and a LOT smaller.

Strengths: Small, compact, works well with sony products. Costs are significantly lower than Sony or Lexar media.Better warranty.

Weaknesses: Memory stick pro duo media is limited to new Sony products.

Summary: The Sandisk Memory Stick Pro Duo is a well priced media that can be used for newer Sony products. It works fine with the latest Sony cameras, and with teh warranty is a great value.

Strengths: N/A

Weaknesses: Incompatibility

Summary: Received the product today. My Sandisk ImageMate SDR-77 which never has a single problem reading CF or Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo, cannot read this Sandisk Memory stick pro duo. I decided to purchase a new reader (Lexar Multi-Card Reader). This Lexar can read Sony's, but not the SANDISK.

Strengths: Sandisk is a very reliable brand. I have sizes from 32MB and up. I am so please to get the 512MB.

Weaknesses: I have waited more than one month for this size to be available on the market and end up bought two 256MB ealier.

Summary: Highly recommend to carry this size if you have a 5.0 Megapixel camera. This is very good price so far for the time that I have been watching. I am consider to buy one more.

Summary: Sandisk 512MB Memory stick pro duo is a great buy. When compared with Sony its almost less between $30 or$40. I could not able to find this in most of the stores. I am using this memory stick for my sony digital camcorder DC HC 30

Strengths: works like it is designed to. durable. had no problems what so ever.

Weaknesses: pro duo is suppose to be very fast, but when transfering files between camara (sony dsc-t1) to computer, doesn't seem very fast, but i don't really know what a slow transfer rate feels like.

Summary: was very hard to even find a place to carry a pro duo in this size (512). i scoured the local retailer but they had high prices. even most places on the internet were out of stock.
